Walmart has many stores around the globe, and we all know this. This research will examine whether Walmart follows its own code or not. I will give examples and then we will discuss the Walmart status. While I anticipated some challenges in collecting information on Walmart’s dealings with employees, it was very easy to find the right and proper information.

Because I was always curious about why Walmart cashiers aren’t allowed to have a place to rest while working, the first case has made me more excited and interested to research. Walmart (WMT), which was defending itself against a large employee class-action lawsuit in California, found itself in defense of the decision by a judge to deny Walmart seating. Walmart’s response was that it actually provided the seating required by law. Walmart’s legal staff responded instead that the class should not be certified and that each cashier should pursue and win a lawsuit.

Logistically, Walmart would rather just face one lawsuit than deal with 100,000 different claims. Walmart probably believed that legal actions could work as coupons. However, only a very small number of people will take advantage of the offer. Walmart may have done something legal, and it used the laws in Walmart’s favor. However, Walmart asked each employee to file a complaint individually, rather than submitting 100,000 individual claims. It is also a waste time and costs the Attorney’s fee and court hearings.

Walmart believes that cashiers should be allowed to sit during their shifts.

My supervisor was at Walmart one day and asked me to collect carts before I left. I was afraid that he would discipline me. After this, I had to repeat the same situation again.

It is against law and Walmart policy to ask you to work for no compensation. Walmart’s global statement of ethics states that you shouldn’t do Walmart work without any compensation.

Walmart, just like other companies has a vision. The vision statement of Walmart is: “The Global Ethics Office’s vision is to encourage ownership of Walmart’s ethics culture to all stakeholders worldwide.” This code outlines how to raise concerns within the company. The organization benefits from people showing respect for each other, as well as customers. I would like to join the group because I believe in positive thinking and I also want to work with people who are positive. It would feel like a home and can help us solve any problems quickly. Moral support will help us get through our problems more easily.
